Conférence Chaire Jean Monnet en intégration européenne

Professor Céline Castets-Renard was a speaker at the Conférence sur la Reconnaissance faciale et les données personnelles en droit de l'Union européenne.

The Chaire Jean Monnet en intégration européenne et le Cercle Europe (Faculty of Law - ESEI), in collaboration with the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technologies, are pleased to welcome Professor Céline Castets-Renard, University of Ottawa, Research Chair on Accountable AI in a Global World, as part of their lunchtime lecture series— Facial recognition and personal data in European Union law.

At a time when private and public actors in the United States, Canada, and Europe are increasingly using facial recognition technology, this conference will focus on the legislative framework for the protection of personal data in European Union law. The use of this technology by police forces and companies will be discussed.
